A computer, which is located at a particulat place and does not have direct contact but the computer can be accessed through a local computer via some form of network usually internet, is called as “remote computer”. In this case the remote computer is not located at the same physical site of the local computer with which it has to work with.
There are two terminologis, server and client. In this case, the remote computer will serve as server for all the local computer and the local computer is called as the client or the host. With this the information may be lost and will slow down the computer etc. For this purpose, a remote computer can be used.
In the case of a remote computer, all data is kept at one centralised location and access to the central computer is given to all concerned employees. In this case, it is also possible to give limited access to the employee. This will improve the security of your information. As you are using the remote computer, you can have a very big capacity server or remote computer and comparatively small capacity PCs as clients in the whole organization. This will help you to keep all data at a central place and use the same whenever required.

Once the connection with the remote computer is established then you are free to access the data and the information stored in the computer or the server.
